Yes! If you are over 70.5 years old, you are eligible to distribute up to $100,000 each year from your IRA to WildAid (and other charitable organizations) without counting the distribution as income.
The gift amount counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), and your taxable income is lowered by the amount of your qualified charitable distribution (QCD).
Gifts must be completed before December 31 to be eligible in the current tax year. There is no tax deduction, but there is also no income tax on the withdrawal for the gift.
The gift should come directly from your Traditional or ROTH IRA in the form of a check. Have your IRA plan administrator send the check to –
